Terms of use
Last updated: August 2026
These terms of use govern your access to the Slonto platform. By creating an account or using the platform, you accept these terms.
Purpose
Slonto is a platform that lets creators publish and sell online courses (lessons, quizzes, review cards), and lets students follow those courses.
Account and minimum age
To use the platform, you must create an account with accurate information. You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential.
You must be at least 16 years old, or have the consent of your legal guardian if you are under 16.
Use of the platform
You agree to:
— use the platform lawfully and in accordance with these terms;
— not attempt to access other users' accounts without authorisation;
— not misuse or disrupt the platform;
— not resell or redistribute the content you have access to.
Creator content
The courses published on the platform belong to their creators. Slonto is not the author of this content and does not review it in advance. If you find unlawful content, you can report it at [email protected].
Course sales by creators
Each creator is an independent seller: they freely set the prices of their courses and remain solely responsible for their tax obligations, including any VAT due on their sales.
To collect their sales, creators connect their own Stripe account (via Stripe Connect, Standard accounts). Student payments are made directly on this account.
Slonto charges a per-sale fee: 9% on the free plan, 0% on paid plans (Starter, Pro, Studio), excluding Stripe payment fees. The applicable rate is the one shown on the pricing page.
Student refund requests are handled in accordance with the sales terms, on the creator's account. In the event of a payment dispute, the creator is responsible for resolving it with the student, with Slonto's assistance where applicable.
Affiliate program
Slonto offers a referral program: a creator (the "referrer") can invite other creators through a personal link. When an invited creator (the "referee") subscribes to a paid plan and pays their first invoice, the referrer receives a credit equal to one month of the referee's plan, applied to their own subscription.
The credit is a commercial rebate on Slonto subscriptions. It does not entitle the referrer to any cash payment or any financial consideration. The referrer remains solely responsible for their own tax obligations, if any.
Each referee only counts once. Self-referral (referring your own account or an account you control) is prohibited. Slonto may revoke any reward obtained fraudulently, notably in the event of a refund or a payment dispute by the referee, and may exclude an account from the program.
Referral data (link, reward status) is processed in accordance with the privacy policy. Slonto may modify or discontinue the program at any time, with reasonable notice.
Intellectual property
The Slonto platform (code, interface, brand) is the property of its publisher. Course content belongs to its respective creators.
Fair use and quotas
Plans that include “unlimited” video storage, bandwidth, emails or live sessions are provided on a fair-use basis, i.e. for normal and proportionate pedagogical use by a creator.
By way of illustration, use is considered manifestly disproportionate when it durably exceeds the median use of active creators (e.g. several dozen hours of group live per month, or several hundred GB of bandwidth), or when it diverts the platform from its purpose (continuous broadcasting, reselling minutes, mass account sharing). The “Understand wall-clock” help page details the orders of magnitude.
Quotas (video, emails, live, IA Studio: 5/30/100 generations) are administrable from the /platform panel and may be adjusted according to market price evolution (e.g. Mistral ×10), with reasonable notice. Unused IA credits expire after 12 months.
In case of overuse, Slonto will contact the creator, propose a suitable solution (plan adjustment, switching to BYOK video/Daily.co, or buying a prepaid IA pack), then may apply a proportionate limitation after notice. No abrupt cut-off without prior exchange.
Custom subdomain
From the Starter plan, you can use a custom subdomain like school.yourdomain.com. This requires a CNAME record at your host pointing school to connect.slonto.com (automatic SSL, 5 min to 2 h propagation). See the “Custom subdomain” help page for the step-by-step.
Subscriptions, pricing and service evolution
Creator subscription prices (Starter, Pro, Studio) are displayed on the pricing page, inclusive of tax where applicable (VAT not applicable, Art. 293 B CGI, while Slonto is under the franchise).
Slonto may change its prices and features. Any increase or material change is notified by e-mail at least 30 days before renewal. The creator may refuse it by cancelling without charge before renewal. Otherwise the new conditions apply to the next period.
Founders’ price: a creator who subscribed during the founding period keeps their price locked as long as the subscription remains active without interruption. Cancellation followed by a new subscription forfeits the founders’ price.
Moderation and notice-and-action (DSA)
In accordance with the EU Digital Services Act (DSA), you can report any content you consider unlawful. We review reports and may remove or restrict access to non-compliant content. Removal decisions are reasoned and can be appealed.
Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate an account in case of a breach of these terms. You can delete your account at any time from the settings.
Liability
The platform is provided “as is”. To the extent permitted by law, Slonto shall not be liable for indirect damages arising from the use of the platform.
Governing law
These terms are governed by French law. Any dispute shall be submitted to the competent French courts.
